ErP 2018 Lot 20 – Gas Fired Radiant Heaters

The Energy Related Product Directive 2009/125/EC (ErP) is a European Council Regulation responsible for introducing initiatives to improve the efficiency of products and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Similar products are grouped into ‘Lots’. Gas fired radiant tube and radiant plaque heaters are included in Lot 20.

From 01/01/2018, all gas fired radiant tube and radiant plaque heaters have to meet new minimum seasonal efficiency figures. They also have to meet new maximum NOx emission figures.

Minimum seasonal efficiency for radiant tube heaters is 74%.

Minimum seasonal efficiency for radiant plaque heaters is 85%.

Maximum NOx emissions for radiant tube and radiant plaque heaters is 200mg/kWh.

Please note that for the purposes of ErP, seasonal efficiency is calculated using the gross calorific value.

These figures should not be used for SBEM calculations.
