Sports Hall Solutions

Sports halls present a number of particular challenges when selecting the appropriate climate control system.

Many halls are multi use, and if they are part of a school they may be used for exams.

Air movement, noise level, quick heat up times and running costs are all important factors.

Gas fired radiant tube systems have been used very successfully for many years in sports halls. If correctly designed and specified they are suitable for all sports activities and are quiet enough for exam use. They give rapid warm up times, low fuel costs and are very robust.

Warm air systems can also be used, but care must be taken to ensure that air movement does not interfere with sports such as badminton. For this reason ducted systems are ideal, with low velocity grilles.

Gas, oil, or hot water based warm air units can be used.

The Apen AquaPump heat pump/condensing boiler can also be used. this innovative unit can be used in conjunction with hot water based warm air and radiant systems to deliver an extremely green solution.
