BackThe Energy Related Product Directive 2009/125/EC (ErP) is a European Council Regulation responsible for introducing initiatives to improve the efficiency of products and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Similar products are grouped into ‘Lots’. Warm air heaters are included in Lot 21.
Natural Gas, LPG, oil and biofuel fired heaters are al included.
From 01/01/2018 all warm air heaters have to meet new minimum seasonal efficiency figures.
Also from 26/09/18 warm air heaters must meet lower maximum NOx emissions.
Minimum seasonal efficiency for warm air heaters – 72%.
Maximum NOx emissions for warm air heaters:
– gas 100mg/kWh
– oil 180mg/kWh
Please note that for the purposes for ErP seasonal efficiency is calculated using the gross calorific value.
ErP seasonal efficiency figures should not be used for SBEM calculations.
