BackThe Energy Related Product Directive 2009/125/EC (ErP) is a European Council Regulation responsible for introducing initiatives to improve the efficiency of products and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Similar products are grouped into ‘Lots’. Warm air heaters are included in Lot 21.
Natural Gas, LPG, oil and biofuel fired heaters are all included.
From 01/01/2021 all warm air heaters have to meet new minimum seasonal efficiency figures as well as meeting new maximum NOx emissions.
Minimum seasonal efficiency for warm air heaters will be 78%.
Maximum NOx emissions will be:
– gas 70mg/kWh
– oil 150mg/kWh
Please note that for the purposes of ErP, seasonal efficiency is calculated using the gross calorific value.
ErP seasonal efficiency figures should not be used for SBEM calculations.
