Warehouse Solutions

From the smallest industrial units to the largest distribution sheds, buildings used for warehousing present a range of potential challenges which must be taken into account when considering the options for maintaining the required temperature conditions.

Warehouses often have a mixture of racked storage and open areas. Maybe a small amount of manufacturing or light assembly. Mezzanine floors and possibly frequently open doors must also be taken into account.

For smaller buildings, a simple suspended gas fired warm air or radiant system may be ideal. Larger buildings may require a system which could include a combination of different systems to achieve the desired result.

Potential suitable products include:

. Gas or oil fired warm air heaters, suspended or floor standing. These systems can be free-blowing or ducted, and are a very cost effective method of heating small and large warehouses. They can also be used to provide frost protection, low level background heating, or full working temperatures.

. Gas fired radiant tube heating. this type of system is very economical to run. It is particularly useful in warehouse applications where only a small part of the overall area requires heat. Marshalling or packing areas can be maintained at a higher temperature than the rest of the building. Can also be used to heat the entire building where high racking is not present.

. Destratification fans. These are essential with free-blowing warm air systems to ensure correct heat distribution and prevent temperature gradients within buildings.

. Hybrid system comprising of an air source heat pump and condensing gas boiler. Heats the building via hot water powered warm air or radiant system. Can also be used with underfloor heating. a very 'green' system.

. Air Curtains can be used where loading doors which are opened regularly create localised cold spots. Air curtains can effective in keeping cold air out of a building and the warmth in. Available as heated or heated, and can be installed above or alongside the door.

. Evaporative coolings is an effective method of cooling a building at a fraction of the cost of air conditioning. Can be roof or wall mounted. Can reduce temperatures at floor level within a building by between 8°c - 10°c. Particularly useful for improving summer conditions on mezzanine floors.

. Air rotation systems, a variation on warm air heating, are an effective solution for heating larger warehouses.

Cartivel has a range of warm air and radiant heating solutions, door curtains, and evaporative coolers which are ideal for all types of warehouse applications.
